I teach Special Education/Title 1 Math here in Schleswig. I am married to my wonderful husband Adam. We have a silver lab named Lambeau. When we are not working, we enjoy playing golf, the Iowa State Cyclones, Green Bay Packers, and St. Louis Cardinals. We also love spending time with our family and friends.
A few weeks ago my Kindergarten guided reading group collaborated with 4th grade to work on graphing. The 4th graders read books about M & M's and gummy bears and then teamed up with the kindergarteners to sort, graph, and finally eat the gummy bears and M & M's. A good time was had by all :)
On Tuesday the Student Council presented some of the school staff with a challenge of playing a basketball game. The game was fun and a few laughs were had by all! No one is quite sure what the score was, but it was definitely closer than we all thought! Thanks to the students and everyone that came out to watch! It was a blast and I am hoping we can make this an annual tradition :)
I spend a few days a week in the kindergarten/ TK room taking small groups of students to work on different math skills. We have been working hard on graphing the past few weeks. Today we had the opportunity to graph with Smarties to help celebrate the 100th day of school and being 100 days smarter! The students each got their own packet of Smarties and then they created their own graph! We found out that white Smarties were the most popular, while green, pink, and orange were the least popular!
The 7th and 8th grade girls had a successful basketball season. 8th grade finished with a record of 6-6 and 7th grade 7-6. The girls had a lot of fun and worked hard all season. Thanks to all who came out and watched! The girls really enjoyed it!
